Paying a minor less than minimum wage in Canada?
Is it legal to hire someone under 18 in Canada, specifically Quebec, and pay them less than minimum wage?
I'm a teenager looking for a summer job, and I recieved a job offer from a childrens summer camp. I did the calculations, and basically, they want me to pay me around 3$ an hour.In Quebec, minimum wage is around $9.
Is this legal? Are minors often paid under min. wage or something?

I agree, that's what I thought, too. I kept doing the calculations over and over again and even got someone to do it, too. Every way I look at it, its always around 3$.
First of all, working age is 16 I believe. Employers can pay kids under that whatever they want, but usually pretty close to minimum wage, like $8 or $8.50. Three dollars per hour is just utterly ridiculous.
